When friend and former Vokal & Apple Bottom Jeans founder Nick Loftis offered mentorship and to incubate my business and contribute to his new venture in footwear, Greedy Genius - I immediately said yes.

I moved my office from a tiny 250 sq. foot shoebox as Nick called it to a 12,000 sq. foot warehouse and got to work. During my time with Greedy I learned about everything from designing tech packs to overseas manufacturing & the complex world of cut & sew. I learned about preparing for large trade show events and selling to big box stores like Barney’s and Finish Line.

I gained experience in designing campaigns and launching new lines with each season all with enough lead time to secure retailers orders while staying current and relevant to consumers when the goods hit the shelves. I ran the online store - order fulfillment - online optimization, email marketing and worked with our online distributors to ensure they had imagery and accurate inventory. I did design, video, web development, photography, customer service, email marketing, search engine optimization, printing, even took out the trash. I facilitated collaborations between other artists and brands such as Famous Stars & Straps and Lupe Fiasco and connected the dots between designers, photographers, manufacturers and retailers.

When it was all said and done I took away a tremendous amount of knowledge, connections and best practices to serve me for a lifetime.
