Angad Arts Hotel
I got in on the ground level literally with the Angad Arts Hotel - during construction visits we would refer to the 3D renderings and I would think to myself no way will this actually turn out like the rendered representations, and to my surprise it turned out better. The hotel offers 140+ rooms that you can book based off the emotion of color - you can book red for passion, blue for tranquility, yellow for happiness or green for rejuvenation.

The hotel offers 140+ rooms that you can book based off the emotion of color - you can book red for passion, blue for tranquility, yellow for happiness or green for rejuvenation. The hotels concept is based off changing the way we look at things for instance the lobby is on the 12th floor and your greeted at the entrance with a giant leaning tower of luggage. I was extremely excited when i got the first set of projects to work on. We created all of the door hangers for each room, things like do not disturb or pets inside. We also created a custom vinyl wrap for the ATM machine so it wouldn’t be so gray and depressing.

My favorite project I did was in conjunction with Red Bull Music - I was hired to design and build a custom DJ booth that was unlike anything anyone has ever seen before all while being mobile and meet certain requirements for the hotel like fitting on the elevator and making certain hallway turns. We wanted something that makes you smile when you see it so we decided it needed to be fun and have a life of it’s own. That’s when Inspiration struck, while visiting the Record Exchange a local record store in St.Louis we noticed that certain old reel to reel players looked like Owls or sometimes two tweeters and a sub woofer speaker would like like a face. We got to sketching and digging through piles of old speakers and audio equipment and the rest is history.
The booth is on casters - has a power supply and has a LED power backlight for the DJ to do his thing. I also helped curate a napkin art contest for the Grand Tavern by David Burke. Contest rules were simple do whatever you want just do it on a napkin and send it to us for a chance to win a meal and a night in the hotel. We received hundreds of napkins had a really tough time picking a winner and an even harder time hanging all of the napkins in frames spaced out correctly. Probably not looking to do that part again myself but it turned out great and i was really surprised at how detailed some of the artists were able to do on such a unforgiving surface.
I help create graphics for art exhibits and events at the hotel and am beginning to create branded merchandise for the hotel. I am currently working on a Stay Colorful sign for the entrance of the hotel and also partnering on a retail / gift shop for the hotel as well as serving as a creative team member of the branding / strategy board for the hotel.
Other projects include - event planning, graphic design, doing the door hangers and acting as a general brand ambassador for the hotel and the creative community inside of St. Louis

Every Wednesday I host an event at the hotel called Coffee With Creatives which serves as a local Ted Talk of sorts for creatives to share their stories and connect with each other. We have had over 40+ speakers so far and have successfully planted a fertile ground for networking and fostering partnerships and connections in the St. Louis creative community.

“When People See It, I want Them To Smile.”
This was all of the creative direction given to us by the head of the hotel. Using the hotels color scheme of red, green blue and yellow we came up with the following concepts of this initial sketch and a visit to our local record store.
