identity & icons
I make things or make things happen.
Branding & identity, especially naming companies or products, is one of my favorite creative endeavors. Everything from the logo font & mark to color scheme, domain name to trademark. I love launching brands. I leverage brains over budget and creativity over capital to do this effectively and efficiently. Below are some of the brands and marks I have been part of creating

My approach starts with the name and the concepts provided by the creative brief and clients' ideas. If none are provided, i.e., I only have a business but no story, name, logo, tagline, colors, etc., these are the best. I begin with a Q&A session to understand the client's preferences, review the competitive landscape, and then proceed to gather names, fonts, color schemes, and general concepts.

A good name should be memorable, easy to spell, easy to say, and protectable. You should be able to obtain a trademark if desired, and secure the domain name and online presence for your brand.
My typical process involves generating a list of ideas, words, and core values in an Excel spreadsheet. I then explore options such as shortening words or combining names, like "greedy genius" or "snackpot," as described in my blog post on the brand name matrix exercise. Next, I conduct a knockout search on Google to check if anyone has already pursued a similar idea. If not,
I proceed to create a Gmail account using the business name (companyname@gmail.com) and secure social media handles (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, etc.). Following that, I visit godaddy.com to purchase a domain name.
Finally, I conduct a trademark search on uspto.gov to ensure the name is available for trademark registration.

Give me a good idea, and I will provide an even better one. Collaboration is key in creating a brand identity and fostering a company culture. I aim for alignment and resonance between myself, the client, and the customers, so that everyone can enjoy and celebrate the same brand and identity.
